So I just watched "Almost Famous" for the second time yesterday. I love that movie. It puts me in a such a breezy, free spirited, adventurous, rockin mood.
I also really like the fashion in the movie. I've always been drawn to bohemian, 60s-70s style, and that movie hits it.
So I went to the mall today. Now our mall is dying. No, it's dead I just don't think she's completely come to terms with that and still lights up every morning and functions like it's still 1981. It's not honey. Nonetheless because of the lack of anything else to do in this hell hole (besides TJ Maxx, we just got a TJ Maxx!!), my sister and I went to the mall. Last time I went there I had my eye on this light wash denim button down shirt, (I've been wanting one since I saw Dakota Fanning wearing one in "The Runaways) from maurices. So when I walked in there today, I headed straight for the 50% off reduced prices rack- cuz that's how I roll. My sister picked it up and showed it to me and I said, "Oh my gosh! I wanted that!" So I snatched up my size and added it my stack of shirts to try on. I tried on a few shirts, tank tops, sweaters (yes sweaters, they were on sale- duh!). I fell in love with the denim shirt and this other hippie looking shirt. It has purples, blues, pinks, and white in a pattern that I can't really describe. It has some paisleys and florals. The sleeves are a 3/4 length and have a little bell shape that the ends. I was watching "Almost Famous" and saw Jason Lee in a black bell sleeved shirt and thought, "I want one of those again!!" Remember when they used to be really popular? I had a few and then the sleeves started getting really "belled" out and huge and gaudy. It was time for those to go away for awhile. There's a line, and it was crossed.
The shirt also has brown leather strings tied at the top that hand down the shirt with brown beads at the end and detachable brown feathers. The feathers have been detached, too much, too tacky.
Of course I bought the denim shirt as well!
Thank you Penny Lane and the men of Stillwater! I feel inspired! :)
Here's a link to the denim button down, and this site does not do it justice. I swear it looks so much better in person.

And I'm sorry but I could not find my purple/blue/pink/white shirt on there for you. It was on that crazy sale so it probably already served its time.
