Ok, let me start out by saying I'm a actually pretty tolerant of other beliefs and religions. And I expect others to do the same. I personally don't consider myself a Christian. I believe in God, and try to follow him as best I know how. I just don't go with organized religion. No one really knows about that stuff. If you sit down with God every day for afternoon tea, please, hook me up cuz I've got a couple questions. But no, you don't. And I really get tired of people telling me what's what about this and that, when they have no idea. My pastor told me, the bible told me. Ok, well the bible was written by a bunch of monks how ever many years ago, thousands of years after the events happened, so basically the bible, is a big written down version of telephone. Sorry if I'm a little skeptical, I just find it a little hard to believe that somewhere down the line it didn't get changed a little bit.
But you know what, I could be wrong. I could be completely, totally, utterly, wrong. I am humble enough to admit that. But I'm not going to be scared into any religion just because somebody says I'll go to hell if I don't.
Now, my friend recently showed me a video. Long story short, it was about a boy who never told his friend about Jesus, and then the friend died and went to hell, and then he sent his friend a letter screaming at him because he didn't tell him about Jesus. The purpose was to let everyone know that you don't want blood on your hands when someone dies and you didn't share Jesus with them. And it got me thinking, why do people share with others their relationship with Christ? Judging by this video, it doesn't seem like it's for that person's good, it's for your guilty conscious. You don't care what happens to your friend, you care whether or not it's your fault. That's the thing that really gets me about a lot of Christians. Most don't do what is right for the sake of it being the right thing to do, they do it for brownie points in the afterlife. I always thought the reason for why you did something was more important then what you did.
To all my nonexistent readers out there, I really am not trying to bash Christians. I'm just bashing the ways certain ones do certain things. No group has members that are all the same, so I don't mean to offend anyone. I'm just saying, practice what you preach. If you preach love and equality because that's what Pastor Dude says, then practice love and equality. For everyone. Don't extend it to the members of your church and you religion and then stop. Don't stop at gays, don't stop at atheists, don't stop at that dirty man on the side of the rode, don't stop, ever. Don't reach out for people just so you can show them off to God and say, "I converted this one over here!"
One love man, one love.
And remember,
we're all pink on the inside!! :)
