Maybe soon I'll do some Best and Worst of the Drugstore.

Don't You Forget About Me

Hey blog!!! It's been a minute, huh?
Well, Happy 2013!!! I have a feeling this is going to be a wonderful year- I can just feel it in my bones!
I know I have been MIA for a very, very long time, but I promise that I am going to do something with this this year! I PROMISE!
I still do not have a video camera, or whatever those gadgets are called, nor do I have the funds for one. I will however do my best so simply take pictures or just blog the crap out of this thing. For real. I'm dead serious this time.
So, I'll be seeing you!

(Hopefully much more than last year :) )

99 cent make up.....WHAAAT?!

I went on a teeny weeny, spur of the moment, shopping trip. I only bought three pairs of tights (funky colorful ones because that's how I do), and a reversible patent red and leopard print belt from Kohls
and a quad eyeshadow palette from Sally's Beauty Supply.
Ok, so the three pairs of tights and belt together cost less than one of the pairs of tights did originally. Yeah. All together it totaled up to be about $12.00 (which I just realized after looking at the recent that they charged me extra for one of the tights because they took off 70% instead of the 80% that was clearly stickered to it-oh well....I can't don't anything about it now, psh.)
Here, I'll post exactly how freakin sweet of a deal I got.
Belt- Originally $26.00
         I got it for $5.20
Apt 9 Tights-Originally $12.00 each
I got them for $3.60 (this is the one they screwed up on) and $1.20
Vera Wang Tights-Originally $14.00
                              I got them for $1.40
Sweet sweet sweet right :)

And now, the reason I begun this post in the first place......
I have only been into Sally's Beauty Supply like one other time in my life. I went again yesterday and right next to the register was this cute little display of teeny eyeshadows and lip glosses, etc etc. Then I saw this.....99 cents. Huh? 99 cents?! WHAT?!
These are Sally's cosmetics, and because they are so cheap I thought they would probably suck in all honesty. No, I am not one of those people who think that because something is expense it's necessarily better, but come on! They were a dollar! What am I supposed to think?!
So of course I bought one. My friend and I were strolling around in there for awhile and we were the only ones in there, and I didn't feel right not buying something from the poor, lonely, bored looking lady up front. I'm a waitress so I have tons of ones to spare anyway.
I bought this little quad palette. It has this shimmery pink, shimmery aqua/teal, a semi-matte, kinda sparkly purple and green. The aqua color is AMAZING! The pigmentation is unbelievable! The pink is pretty good too, and the green is alright, and the purple isn't very impressive-but in all honesty, not many purples are for some reason. This is the only Sally's product I've ever tried and for less than (ok, that's pushing it, but technically it's true) a dollar, it's completely worth it. I'm fairly impressed, and I will be most likely purchasing more.

So, there you have it. I've been trying to update this thing but, urrrrrhhhhh!
Adios.

Almost Famous

So I just watched "Almost Famous" for the second time yesterday. I love that movie. It puts me in a such a breezy, free spirited, adventurous, rockin mood.
I also really like the fashion in the movie. I've always been drawn to bohemian, 60s-70s style, and that movie hits it.
So I went to the mall today. Now our mall is dying. No, it's dead I just don't think she's completely come to terms with that and still lights up every morning and functions like it's still 1981. It's not honey. Nonetheless because of the lack of anything else to do in this hell hole (besides TJ Maxx, we just got a TJ Maxx!!), my sister and I went to the mall. Last time I went there I had my eye on this light wash denim button down shirt, (I've been wanting one since I saw Dakota Fanning wearing one in "The Runaways) from maurices. So when I walked in there today, I headed straight for the 50% off reduced prices rack- cuz that's how I roll.  My sister picked it up and showed it to me and I said, "Oh my gosh! I wanted that!" So I snatched up my size and added it my stack of shirts to try on. I tried on a few shirts, tank tops, sweaters (yes sweaters, they were on sale- duh!). I fell in love with the denim shirt and this other hippie looking shirt. It has purples, blues, pinks, and white in a pattern that I can't really describe. It has some paisleys and florals. The sleeves are a 3/4 length and have a little bell shape that the ends. I was watching "Almost Famous" and saw Jason Lee in a black bell sleeved shirt and thought, "I want one of those again!!" Remember when they used to be really popular? I had a few and then the sleeves started getting really "belled" out and huge and gaudy. It was time for those to go away for awhile. There's a line, and it was crossed.
The shirt also has brown leather strings tied at the top that hand down the shirt with brown beads at the end and detachable brown feathers. The feathers have been detached, too much, too tacky.
Of course I bought the denim shirt as well!
Thank you Penny Lane and the men of Stillwater! I feel inspired! :)

Here's a link to the denim button down, and this site does not do it justice. I swear it looks so much better in person.

And I'm sorry but I could not find my purple/blue/pink/white shirt on there for you. It was on that crazy sale so it probably already served its time.

Why Can't I Stick to Anything?

Did ya miss me? Hope so.
Well, I haven't had any beauty/fashion things recently. Although, I'm thinking about trashing the idea of becoming a beauty guru on youtube and such. Why? Because there's too freakin many of them! Nah, not worth my time.
If anything, I want to be like andreaschoice. If you don't know her, you should definitely check her out. She has EVERYTHING! Hair, nails, makeup, DIY, fashion, la dee da. And she's super cool too.
Anyway, that would be what I would want to aspire to be. I still don't have a flipping camera yet, I'm so poor.

I've debated and debated this blog-do I keep it? Do I get rid of it? It's a nice idea and I think with some nurturing I could get this thing going, but will I? I thought about starting another one, or just renaming this one. I'd like to put on makeup things, fashion things, trends, DIYs, etc., and I'm not sure if the name is fitting.
I really wish I had viewers who could give me some input...

Ya know what, I think for now I'll keep this thing. Fingers crossed for more consistent updates!! :)
Ciao!

Whoopsie Daisies!

I forgot....HAPPY NEW YEAR!

iPads take crappy pictures...

so i'm going to have to tear up my house looking for my camera's usb cord....

I'm a little late with this post, but since I have like 0 viewers, I'm not too concerned with it.
Anyway, I suppose I'll call this a Hot Topic Haul, a mini one, even though some of these were Christmas presents but, same difference.

Here are my shorts that I'm uber excited about!

Yes, they're short. But my butt (but my butt-haha) isn't hanging out so it's all good.

Here's my little "African Safari" dress, paired with my Jason Mraz hat

I'm seeing a perfect summer concert outfit in the near (not so much) sunny future!!

My cowboy and Jason Mraz hat.....that's who I first thought of when I saw this hat, and my sister said the same thing, confirming my perception :)
And my new jean jacket, which I can really see becoming a staple in my plain school T-shirts and jeans wardrobe. I love it!

So there you all go, my first haul :) The cowboy hat and jean vest were all Christmas gifts, so props to my parents. They're slowly crawling out of the 70s :)

Oh, and remember that wonderful, bold, diamond necklace I was raving about in the last post? Yeah, it's broken. I took it to Tennesse with  me, and when I finally decided to empty out my duffle bag once I got home, it was in 2 or 3 pieces. Not. Cool. I may attempt to fix it, but I don't know if it's worth the trouble.

Adios people!!! Thanks for your time and eyes :)
